We aim to teach driving skills for a lifetime of safety and enjoyment. This depends upon having the skill to ensure that the vehicle is always traveling at a safe speed in the correct position on the road with the appropriate gear engaged.
The cornerstones of such expert abilities are; keen observation all round, awareness and an ability to prioritise dangers coupled with anticipation.
This enables the drive to appear smooth and accomplished because there should rarely be any hurried braking, gear changing or sudden changes in position. Looking well ahead, planning and responding to developing hazards early are the only ways to accomplish this.
Finally you will undertake mock tests to ensure your suitability for the DSA practical driving test.
Founder Nick West, started the company after improving his driving some years earlier by joining a local advanced driver group and passing the examinations of the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) and the RoSPA Advanced Drivers Association (RoADA), at the highest level.
Having experienced the sheer enjoyment of being in total control of his vehicle and driving with a skill that enabled him to anticipate the actions of others, and appreciating the importance of this skill in collision prevention; he determined to teach such skills so that not only would the students pass their driving test, they would drive with an attitude that would depend on looking out for others mistakes. They would always be in the correct position on the road, driving at a safe speed with the appropriate gear engaged.
Our Company Name
Collisions occur when one vehicle gets too close to another.
Creating space will avoid collisions. Space is created only by the skilled
application of speed and position combined with a highly tuned sense of
observation, awareness and anticipation. By creating space, time is allowed
to make the correct decision about how to proceed.
Time and Space is quoted
extensively in ‘Roadcraft’ the police advanced drivers’ handbook as well
as by the DSA in their training manuals and videos.
